Peat
The location of the mineral resources stored on the surface or underground indicates the geological properties of the corresponding site. Various important mineral resources exist in different geological environments. In that sense the district of Pabna is not rich in mineral resources.
Peat is found here in some parts of the Chalanbil area. In the whole of Bangladesh, where the total reserves of peat are more than 8 million tonnes, the volume of storage is only about 1.2 million tonnes. Depth of the reservoir reservoir is 1.5 - 1.5 meters, thickness 1.5 - 1.5 meters, carbon 5%, flame 1.5%, humidity 5%, volatile matter 5%. But the pit lifting from this reserve has not started yet. For domestic purposes, brick kilns and peat are used as boiler fuel. Pete's potential as an alternative fuel in our country is very bright.
Sand is found on the banks of various rivers in Pabna district. The sand is composed mainly of medium to coarse granular quartz. The sand is widely used in the construction of buildings, bridges, roads, etc. If the sand is harvested in a planned way, its importance in the construction industry of Bangladesh will gradually increase.
